Live from the International Armored Vehicle Show in Austin, Texas, discover how Mercury is enabling the army to get higher performance and SWaP optimization in a smaller footprint when 3U VPX is not an ideal fit.
Vodcast Highlights
What challenges are specific to Army ground operations?
Performance and capability challenges in field operations require specific compute and processing solutions, that not only satisfy size weight and power needs, but must also be rugged enough to function reliably in demanding environments.
What products does Mercury offer that serve Army ground operations challenges?
Mercury offers many different products and capabilities across our different business units. Typical form factors are VPX, small form factor, rackmount, high-density servers and even custom products. Within those products, we're bringing a focus on open standards and enhanced security to the market—a cornerstone of Mercury products across our offerings.

Ralph Guevarez:
Performance and capability challenges in field operations require specific compute and processing solutions, that not only satisfy size weight and power needs, but must also be rugged enough to function reliably in demanding environments. Hello, and welcome to MercuryNOW, a Vodcast series brought to you by Mercury Systems. I am your host, Ralph Guevarez and today we are live from the International Armored Vehicle Show in Austin, Texas, where Mercury is enabling the army to get smaller, higher performance and swap optimization, where 3U VPX is not an ideal fit. Joining me at this time is Jonathan Malaney, sales manager for Mercury's edge processing division. Jonathan, good to see you again.
Jonathan Malaney:
Good to see you too.
Ralph Guevarez:
Jonathan, could you briefly tell us what challenges are specific to army ground operations that Mercury solves and is here to talk about?
Jonathan Malaney:
Well, as you know, Mercury offers many different products and capabilities throughout our different business units. And so typical form factors you'll find are VPX, small form factor, rackmount, and even custom products. And in the edge business unit, what we focus on are the rackmount and small form factor and high density servers. And within those products, what we're bringing to the market is, a focus on open standards, enhanced security, and that's always been a cornerstone of Mercury products across our spectrum. Also, high reliability and swap optimization. And so this enables the ground market, wherever it might take us in the world, to have the best of what Mercury can offer.
Ralph Guevarez:
Thank you for that, Jonathan. Now I understand you have products here that answer the demands for the army. Could you please tell us a little bit about these products and what exactly they do?
Jonathan Malaney:
Absolutely. So we're here at the IAV conference and today we're showcasing our small form factor products. When 3U VPX or 6U VPX isn't an ideal solution, you would want to look at small form factor. And our nano product line consists of our NanoSWITCH, which is a 10 or 16 port managed switch, victory compliant, fully sealed and conduction cooled. Or our Nanopak, which is an I7 based computer system, fully sealed, conduction cooled with lots of IO expandability. Both of these products will be upgraded in the next few months and we're excited to bring that new capability and technology to you.
Ralph Guevarez:
Thank you for that, Jonathan. Great presentation. Now I understand there is more to come in the coming months from Mercury to support army. Could you please tell our viewers a little bit about what we could expect?
Jonathan Malaney:
Sure. The first thing is. You're going to see more Mercury presence at army events. Two, you're going to see next generation capabilities come from our nano product line. And third, you're going to see additional family members be added to the portfolio of nano.
Ralph Guevarez:
Great, great. Jonathan, I want to take this time to thank you for joining me, it was great to see you again. Appreciate your time.
Jonathan Malaney:
All Right. Thank you very much.
Ralph Guevarez:
