5 GHz to 20 GHz Bypassable Amplifier with Amplifier Off State
The AM1077 is a high dynamic range amplifier covering the 5 GHz to 20 GHz frequency range offering both a bypass mode and an amplifier off mode. The device provides high gain with low bypass insertion loss and is capable of producing a +16 dBm output power with a single +3.3V supply. With internal 50Ω matching and packaged in a 4mm QFN, the AM1077 represents a dramatic size reduction over a discrete implementation of a bypassable amplifier with an amplifier off state.
The AM1077 is one of three 5 GHz to 20 GHz amplifiers offered by Mercury. The other two members of this family include the gain block AM1053 and the bypassable gain block AM1067. The AM1077 expands on this collection by taking the AM1067 and providing an isolation state. This family offers low noise figure, high third order intercept performance, and excellent gain stability over the operating temperature range.
The AM1077 is also part of Mercury’s catalog of bypassable amplifiers ranging from DC to 26.5 GHz. In this family there is the AM1065 that covers DC to 8 GHz with high gain, the AM1081 that covers DC to 8 GHz with high P1dB and IP3, the AM1067 as mentioned above, and the AM1075 that covers 5 GHz to 26.5 GHz. In addition to these the AM1073 offers bi-directional performance while still being bypassable covering DC to 8 GHz.
Evaluation board includes SMA input and output connectors and SMA voltage input unless otherwise requested. AM1077 evaluation board also includes DIP switch for control of bypass and isolation functions. This switch is included with the evaluation board unless otherwise requested. Evaluation board includes AM1077.
