DC to 8 GHz Bypassable Gain Block
The AM1081 is a high dynamic range bypassable DC-coupled amplifier covering up to 8 GHz. The device exhibits low bypass insertion loss and a moderate positive gain-slope, providing frequency equalization useful in many broadband applications. Packaged in a 4mm QFN with internal 50Ω matching and requiring a single positive control voltage, the AM1081 represents a dramatic size reduction over a discrete implementation of a bypassable amplifier.
The AM1081 is the newest addition in the Mercury catalog of bypassable amplifiers ranging from DC to 26.5 GHz. In this family there is the AM1065 that covers DC to 8 GHz with higher gain, the AM1067 that covers 5 GHz to 20 GHz, and the AM1075 that covers 5 GHz to 26.5 GHz. In addition to these the AM1073 offers bi-directional performance while still being bypassable covering DC to 8 GHz and the AM1077 offers a bypassable amplifier with an isolation state covering 5 GHz to 20 GHz.
Evaluation board includes SMA input and output connectors and SMA voltage input unless otherwise requested. AM1081 evaluation board also includes DIP switch for control of bypass function. This switch is included with the evaluation board unless otherwise requested. Evaluation board includes AM1081.
Module includes field replaceable SMA input and output connectors. Module also includes three pins for voltage input through a feed-through capacitor and a corresponding ground connection as well as a pin for toggling the bypass control high or low. Module includes four mounting holes sized 4-40 that are threaded from the bottom side of the module.
