Broadband Variable Slope Gain Equalizing Amplifier
The AM1145 is a broadband digitally controlled variable slope amplifier that covers the 2-18GHz frequency range. The device exhibits low gain at the lower frequencies ascending to higher gain levels at higher frequencies. The increasing gain makes it an ideal solution to equalize gain/insertion loss across an RF system without the need of an extra equalizer saving valuable space and BOM costs.. The AM1145 has four different slope options to allow flexibility in achieving maximum gain flatness in a system while providing unchanged nonlinear performance. It is packaged in a 3mm QFN with internal 50Ω matching and draws 200mW of DC power which makes the AM1145 ideal for demanding, low SWaP applications.
The AM1145 is one in a family of gain equalizing amplifiers offered from Atlanta Micro covering the 2 GHz to 18 GHz frequency range with variable slope and gain parameters. This family of parts is pin compatible with each other (design with AM1145 footprint in mind) allowing swapping of the amplifiers to optimize system performance when needing more or less gain versus frequency. This family of gain equalizing amplifiers includes the AM1110, AM1113, and AM1114.
